Story
Hello fellow travelers,
I'm Michael, and my journey with LOMA began not with a destination, but with a realization. As a traveler, I was always drawn to the hidden corners of every city—the unique flavors, the quiet alleys, the laughter spilling out from local hangouts. Yet, I often found myself sifting through the same repetitive travel guides, ending up at places that felt like they were made for tourists, not travelers.
One day, in a small café tucked away from the city’s hustle, a local shared stories of our surroundings, enriching my understanding of the culture and community. Before we parted ways, he did something simple yet profound—he sent me his Google Maps list. It was a treasure trove of recommendations, each pinned location a story, each route a personal narrative. I discovered places I never would have found in any guidebook. That convenience and personal touch made all the difference.
It was an 'aha' moment for me. Google Maps was already the go-to tool for navigation, but what if it could be more? What if it could be a portal to the soul of a city, a way to connect with the heartbeat of a place through the experiences of those who know it best?
That's why I created LOMA. I envisioned a platform where travel is not just about the places you visit but about the experiences you collect. LOMA is built on the idea that the most convenient way to uncover a city's secrets is through sharing our personal maps, each listing a curated journey into what makes a place special—straight from your phone to the streets.
Every feature on LOMA, every list, is more than just a set of coordinates; it's a passport to living like a local, wherever you go. We're about building bridges, not just between places, but between people. So here's to the explorers, the culture seekers, the adventurers—LOMA is for you.
